On the morning of December 7, Party General Branch of Sports Department of Jiangsu University held the general election party assembly in the conference room of the gymnasium. All party members attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Wang Wunian, deputy director of Sports Department and attended and delivered by Mei Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University.

The Party Member Conference began with the solemn national anthem. Mei Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangsu University, delivered a speech on behalf of the school party committee. President Mei first affirmed the achievements of the previous Party General Branch of Sports Department and raised hopes and specific requirements for the upcoming new committee. He said that Party General Branch of Sports Department should implement the principle of joint responsibility of the Party and Government, give full play to the political core role of Party General Branch, strengthen the building of the Party, earnestly organize the study of the spirit of the Party's 19th National Congress, and establish a morality and dedication to contribute to the vigorous development of sports in Jiangsu University and work hard to build a better Jiangda campus!

Afterwards, the General Assembly heard and reviewed the work report of Zhou Jun, Secretary of Party General Branch, on behalf of the previous Party General Branch which from the perspectives of the system construction, theory study of party members, team building, propaganda, development of party members united work of Trade Union, summarized the working situation and achievements of the Party General Branch in relying tightly on all party members and faculty and staff, highly holding the great banner of socialism with Chinese characteristics, thoroughly studying and implementing the spirit of the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping, and making every effort to promote the steady progress of all aspects of Sports Department under the correct leadership of the Party Committee of the school in the past three years. Then, he put forward the ideas and efforts of future work.

Then, the General Assembly approved the “Selection Measures for the General Branch of Sports Department of Jiangsu University of China” and the list of directors, scrutineers and tellers. By secret ballot, the five elections of Wang Wunian, Yan Kangrong, Li Zongtang, Zhou Jun, and Fan Xiaofei (in the order of surnames) were elected as the new members of Party General Branch of Sports Department. At last, the conference ended with the “Internationale”.

After the conference, the newly elected members of Party General Branch of Sports Department participated in the first Plenary Session of the Third Party General Branch and elected Comrade Zhou Jun as Secretary of Party General Branch.
