The competition among football clubs and the first "Principal Cup" football match for the 16th sports games of Jiangsu University opened at Dongshan Sports Ground at 8 a.m. on April 21. Deputy Director Yan Kangrong presided over the opening ceremony, attended by Director of Department of Students’ Affairs, Yang Daojian, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Wang Limin, Secretary of Party General Branch of Sports Department, Zhou Jun, and Deputy Director, Wang Wunian.

At the opening ceremony, Secretary Wang Limin’s speech summed up the outstanding achievements in football in our school in recent years. It was hoped that college students could actively participated in football playing for better results of our school's football level among national and provincial competitions. Subsequently, Yang Daojian, Wang Limin, Zhou Ju, and Wang Wunian jointly unveiled the championship trophy of Principal’s Cup.

Finally, Secretary of Sports Department, Zhou Jun announced the opening of competition among football clubs and the first "Principal Cup" football match for the 16th sports games of Jiangsu University. In this competition, there were more than 300 athletes from 19 colleges participating in the competition. The first phase of the competition adopted the method of grouping and cycling, that was to say the first two teams advanced to the following competition, and the second phase adopted the cross elimination.
