On November 1st, the opening ceremony of the 18th Sports Meeting of Jiangsu University was grandly opened in Dongshan playground. The leaders in the school and more than 5,000 students and staff from each college and division of labor union attended the opening ceremony. Vice president, the director of school Sports Working Committee, Mei Qiang, presided over the opening ceremony.

At the opening ceremony, the school leaders successively awarded prizes to the 9 divisions of labor union that won the honorary title of “2018-2019 Advanced Collective of Mass Sports Work of Jiangsu University” and the colleges that won the top 8 overall group scores in the 17th Sports Meeting. The referees and sports representatives took an oath. Yuan Shouqi announced the opening of the 18th Sports Meeting of Jiangsu University.

After the opening ceremony, more than 3,000 students and teachers from 25 colleges and over 20 divisions of labor union would participate in the two-day track and field events and interesting sport events, including more than 10 track and field events for both men and women, and 6 interesting team sport events. In the next year, basketball, volleyball, football, table tennis, badminton, orienteering, aerobics, street dance and other student competitions of the 18th Sports Meeting will be held in succession.
