he 24th National University Students’ Track and Field Championships took place in Jining, Shandong Province from July 15 to 24. Featuring 27 major events and 162 sub‑events, the competition drew more than 3,900 athletes from 536 universities across China. Both the scale of participation and competitive standard reached an all‑time high.
Our university sent a delegation of 10 athletes to compete in Group A, which consisted of participants from 238 universities. The team was led by Wang Wunian as team leader, together with coaches Jing Zhongwei, Liang Ying and Zhao Juxing. Defying strong rivals and striving relentlessly, our athletes secured 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal. The team claimed first place in the men’s overall team standings and fifth place in the combined men’s‑and‑women’s overall team standings.
Zhou Jianhao from the School of Finance and Economics delivered an outstanding performance, winning championships in both the men’s 200‑meter and 400‑meter races. He broke the Group A championship meet records in both events, and his 400‑meter result met the national Master‑level Athlete standard. The men’s 4×400‑meter relay team took the silver medal, while the men’s 4×100‑meter relay finished seventh.
Faced with fierce pressure from top‑tier university athletes nationwide, our athletes competed courageously and pushed their limits with solid technical foundations and indomitable spirit. They brought honors to the university and demonstrated the positive and enterprising mental outlook of our students.
